Position Information Position Title Program Coordinator - Real Skills for Youth Department Name Institute for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies Academic or Calendar Year Scheduled Work Week / Hours / Area Position Overview The Program Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Real Skills for Youth CyberNext Scholars program. This part-time (10-15 hours per week), grant-funded role coordinates program operations, communicates with stakeholders, tracks progress, and ensures that activities align with organizational goals, timelines, and budget requirements. The Program Coordinator also serves as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders and project partners, while ensuring the program remains closely aligned with Rhode Island College's mission and vision. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in cross-departmental coordination. The CyberNext Scholars initiative will provide Rhode Island youth with paid, career-connected learning experiences in the high-demand fields of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and information technology. Through a carefully designed continuum of programming, the Institute for Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies at Rhode Island College will create early exposure opportunities, deliver rigorous academic instruction, and offer structured paid internships that directly prepare students for success in Rhode Island's growing digital economy. In total, the program will engage approximately 600 high school students annually through half-day campus visits, enroll 20 high school students in a Summer Academic Intensive where they will earn four (4) college credits, and place at least 20 Rhode Island College undergraduates in paid internships each year.
Essential Duties Program Administration & Coordination:
Coordinate operations of Real Skills for Youth CyberNext Scholars program. Assist with program planning, scheduling, and implementation. Maintain program calendars, timelines, and documentation. Monitor program milestones and follow up on action items.
Communication & Stakeholder Support:
Serve as a point of contact for program participants, partners, and internal teams. Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentation materials. Coordinate meetings, workshops, and events (logistics, agendas, materials). Respond to inquiries and provide accurate program information.
Data, Reporting & Compliance:
Track program data, enrollment, attendance, or outcomes. Assist with reporting, assessments, and evaluations. Ensure program activities comply with organizational policies and guidelines.
Financial & Resource Support:
Assist with budget tracking, invoices, and expense reconciliation. Coordinate procurement of materials or services . Occasional Duties Attend occasional off-site meetings, events, and conferences related to grant support. Travel to employer sites for grant-related activities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Co-Directors. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-3 years of experience in program coordination, administration, or a related role. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent with Microsoft Office products including Teams, Excel, Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications Experience:
Experience coordinating programs in an academic, nonprofit, or professional setting. Familiarity with project management tools or databases. Experience supporting events, workshops, or training programs.
