PTO ABOUT THRIVE POINT RECOVERY
Thrive Point Recovery is a behavioral health Clinic in its final stages of licensing in North Smithfield, Rhode Island, providing Intensive Outpatient (IOP/ASAM 2.1) and General Outpatient (OP) services to adults with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring diagnoses. We are building a recovery-oriented, integrated care model from the ground up and are seeking a founding Program Director to lead day-to-day operations and help shape the program from the outset.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on operational leadership role in a startup behavioral health clinic. You will work alongside the Clinical Director and Compliance Coordinator to build and run a BHDDH-licensed IOP that actually works for staff, clients, and regulators. You are not stepping into a fully built program. You are building it alongside a lean, driven team. Key Responsibilities ▸ Serve as the operational lead for the IOP — overseeing day-to-day program operations, scheduling, census management, and workflow ▸ Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for IOP staff — ensuring qualifications and competencies meet BHDDH standards ▸ Develop and maintain written policies and procedures for admission, continuing care, and discharge consistent with
BHDDH 212-RICR-10-10-1
▸ Collaborate with the Clinical Director to ensure assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and documentation meet BHDDH and payer standards ▸ Oversee non-clinical compliance — monitoring adherence to BHDDH regulations, rights of persons served, documentation standards, and information management ▸ Develop and monitor program metrics — access, engagement, utilization, and discharges — and participate in quality improvement and corrective action planning ▸ Coordinate with the prescribing NP to ensure medication service workflows and documentation requirements are met ▸ Represent Thrive Point Recovery with referral sources, payers, and community partners to build relationships and support program growth ▸ Partner with the Compliance Coordinator and executive team on quality, and future expansion
QUALIFICATIONS
Required ▸ Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, healthcare administration, social work, counseling, or a related field ▸ Minimum 3 years of experience in an IOP, outpatient, PHP, or residential behavioral health setting in a supervisory, operational, or administrative leadership role ▸ Demonstrated experience managing staff, overseeing program operations, or coordinating clinical and administrative workflows in a behavioral health environment ▸ Working knowledge of or a clear and demonstrated willingness to develop knowledge of Rhode Island BHDDH regulations for Behavioral Healthcare Organizations (212-RICR-10-10-1) ▸ Strong organizational skills and comfort operating in a startup environment where processes are actively being built Preferred ▸ Experience supporting state licensing, Medicaid, or commercial payer readiness, or accreditation processes in behavioral health ▸ Familiarity with ASAM criteria and co-occurring MH/SUD treatment models ▸ Experience with EHR systems and clinical documentation compliance ▸ Experience with Joint Commission, CARF, or similar accreditation is a plus but not required Core Competencies ▸ Builder mindset, you can translate regulatory requirements into practical day-to-day workflows ▸ Strong communicator with staff, regulators, referral sources, and external partners ▸ Collaborative and comfortable partnering with clinical leadership and the executive team ▸ Calm under the pressure of a startup launch environment, you solve problems, you don't freeze
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
▸ $80,000 annual salary ▸ Health Insurance ▸ 401(k) ▸ Paid Time Off (PTO)
BEFORE YOUR FIRST DAY
Prior to your official mid-May start date, you will complete training on Sunwave (our EHR) and required Relias compliance training modules so you are ready to lead operations from day one.
