Job Description
Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? Are you ready put your management and leadership skills to use? If so, the Department of Motor Vehicles may have a position for you as an Office Supervisor. This position is located in Vehicle Services / Mail in Title Registration Unit - Headquarters, Blythewood, S.C. Responsibilities of the Office Supervisor III
- Provides direction and instructions on the title processing of the transactions and inquiries regarding title and registration, lien recording, duplicate title, fleet, odometer corrections and other miscellaneous titling and registration actions from third parties via telephone, emails, and/or by mail for the assigned office. Assist in the training and mentoring of all employees .
- Oversees assigned work unit to ensure all job functions meet established standards.
- Use DMV Phoenix system to enter, retrieve, update and provide data for customers, courts, auditor's, treasurers' office, and law enforcement. Processes transactions to include, but not limited to, the issuance of registration cards, titles, and decals. Prepares routine correspondence .
- Completes end of day reports for financial transactions to include calculating collected fees from TRS .
- Responsible for ensuring Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) reviews are completed by scheduled due date. Evaluates the work of employees, disciplinary action, reviews, approves or disapproves employee leave request and ensures adequate coverage for the work unit .
- Performs other related duties as directed. Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma and relevant program experience. Additional Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of the SCDMV titling and registration processes and procedures; to include titling and registering, fleet vehicles, record liens, golf cart permits, handicap placards, odometer corrections, duplicate titles, EVR, and notice of vehicle sold.
- Knowledge of office management policies, practices and procedures and ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying.
- Ability to effectively and independently plan and organize work activities. Ability to train other employees and communicate courteously and effectively with the public both orally and in writing.
- Under minimal supervision, independently directs, preforms and coordinates the operation of general administrative functions.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and to maintain confidentiality of files and records. Must display professional proficiency in all areas of job performance and possess good management skills.
- Works in a climate-controlled office environment. The work requires a significant amount of time spent at a computer terminal.
- May occasionally be required to work outside of the normal working hours.
