Job Description

Serves as the Sample Management Coordinator at the Office of Materials and Research (OMR). Coordinates the daily workflow of the Department's materials sampling, testing, and reporting processes. Ensures efficient workflow between all OMR units, district laboratories, and Construction personnel. Manages the Receiving Unit to include supervising the Sample Management Technicians. Assists the Receiving Unit in processing samples for testing; entering and verifying sample data in AASHTOware Project; and logging sample data into the tracking workbook. Oversees the final reporting, posting, and distribution of test reports and failed samples. Uploads final test reports to ProjectWise, maintains Supplier List, and distributes test reports to appropriate suppliers. Maintains hardcopy test report files and coordinates records retention and disposal. Assists OMR engineers, technicians, Construction personnel, and industry with issues related to materials sample data, delivery, and tracking. Performs queries and produces reports for Engineering staff from applicable databases related to materials. Assists with the tracking and reporting of work orders from OMR testing units. Provides quality assurance for work order information and reporting of test results. Performs other related duties as assigned A bachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant program experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies. Employee may be exposed to loud noises, dust, fumes, and other conditions associated with a laboratory environment.
