GENERAL SUMMARY
The After-School Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall operation of the before-school after•school program, including but not limited to: daily scheduling of staff, family engagement, supporting and managing staff, consistent monitoring of all classrooms and elements of the after•school program, student attendance tracking and general program support. The position is responsible for planning activities, ensuring safety of all children in the program, interacting with children and their families, working independently as well as with a team, and creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment. The candidate must have a positive attitude and serve as a role model to participants in the program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruits, trains, supervises and develops staff. Plans and conducts staff training at the beginning of the school year and facilitate ongoing meetings and necessary trainings to keep staff informed. Prepare staff schedules to ensure proper staff/student coverage. Designs and implements program activities and delegate responsibilities to staff. Create daily class rotations to include playground and activity times and rest room breaks. Work with parents to enroll students, communicate to parents about daily activities, discipline issues and fee payments. Assure documentation is on hand and readily available concerning current medical conditions of enrolled students. Assure students are present and/or accounted for each day. Manage the overall health, safety, welfare and enjoyment of the students. Maintain administrative and attendance records. Monitor time cards for accuracy and approve time cards for payroll. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education High School Diploma or equivalent Experience Experience working with children. Must have the ability to work well with others, possess excellent leadership, management and organizational skills. Skills/Efforts Creates a positive work environment. Communicates well with students other staff members. Dependable. Working Condition While performing these duties the employee will need to walk, stand, sit, talk, hear, reach with arms or hands, climb, balance, stoop or kneel. Could require movement/lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Exposure to inside and outside conditions.
