Job Description
Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU), a private four-year liberal arts university and member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (NAIA), invites applications for a part-time Cheer and Dance Performance Team Coach. This position is responsible for leading all aspects of the sideline cheer and non-competitive dance program, with a focus on building a positive, energetic, and student-centered team culture.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and lead practices, game-day performances, and team activities Recruit, develop, and retain student-athletes Organize schedules, travel, and program operations Manage program budget and assist with fundraising efforts Maintain knowledge of NAIA and GPAC rules and ensure compliance Build relationships with prospective students, high school coaches, and community partners Support the mission and values of Dakota Wesleyan University Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred Experience in cheer, dance, choreography, or related performing arts Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills Ability to build a positive team culture and connect with students Willingness to engage in fundraising and program development DWU seeks a dynamic and motivated individual who can foster an environment built on teamwork, integrity, trust, and transparency while supporting student-athlete success both on and off the field.
