Based on Education and Experience Position Overview The NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center is situated on over 130 acres of recreational space and hosts a wide range of archery and non-archery events and programs each year. The Community Coach plays a key role in delivering and growing archery and shooting sports programs at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center. This position focuses on instruction, program support, and community engagement, helping introduce new participants to the sport while supporting experienced archers. This role works closely with staff, volunteers, local organizations, and participants of all ages to create a positive and consistent experience across all programs. Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily operations and assist with archery and shooting sports programs
  • Provide group instruction and private coaching
  • Assist with camps, classes, leagues, clinics, and certification courses
  • Help manage program equipment, including inventory, maintenance, and purchasing
  • Work with staff to develop and maintain program curriculum and ensure consistent instruction
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts to grow participation
  • Assist with local, regional, and national events hosted at the facility
  • Build relationships with local schools, clubs, and partner organizations
  • Help integrate archery into school and youth programs (NASP, OAS, JOAD, etc.)
  • Assist with Mount Marty Archery programs, including practices, coaching, and events
  • Support archery academies and training camps
  • Contribute ideas to improve and expand programs based on industry trends
  • Maintain strong communication with staff, partners, and the community
  • Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For
  • Interest in archery or shooting sports, with a passion for teaching and growing participation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; enjoys working with all age groups
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, public-facing environment
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in sports, fitness, recreation, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Coaching or archery experience (or similar industry experience)
  • Basic knowledge of bow setup, tuning, and maintenance preferred
  • Experience with events, leagues, or program management is a plus
  • Comfortable using technology and software platforms
  • Ability to pass background check, SafeSport, and required certifications.
  • Must be eligible to work with youth participants Why This Role Matters This position helps grow the sport at the local level by creating positive experiences for new and returning archers.
You will play a direct role in building programs, supporting athletes, and strengthening the archery community.
