Chief Executive Officer Supervises:
Lead Case Manager, 2 Stability Case Managers, Office and Scheduling Specialist Position Overview Northside Neighborhood House (NNH) is seeking a Chief Stability Officer (CSO) to lead our Stability Services department. At NNH, we meet our neighbors north of the Tennessee River in their hardest moments and walk with them toward something steadier. Through relationship-based case management, financial assistance, and programs built around housing, food, and economic mobility, we don't just hand out emergency aid—we help neighbors name barriers and build plans for lasting change. As the CSO, you will join our executive Leadership Team. This is a role for a person who leads with relationships, thinks strategically, values data-driven continuous improvement, and fiercely protects the dignity of those we serve.
Please Note:
This role focuses on strategy, program design, partnership cultivation, and team development. You will set the standards and coach the work, but you do not carry a day-to-day case management caseload. What You Will Do (Essential Responsibilities) Strategic Leadership & Program Design Serve on the NNH Leadership Team to align stability programs with the overall organizational strategy; co-lead the Program Committee alongside the Chief Education Officer to champion a two-generation approach. Lead the strategic development of long-term stability initiatives, including our 'Rooted Together' initiative, ensuring all services are trauma-informed and dignity-centered. Amplify the voice and lived experiences of our neighbors by coordinating and facilitating the Client Advisory Board (CAB) to directly inform program design. Oversee the Stability department budget, monitoring expenses and ensuring long-term financial sustainability. Team Leadership & Culture Lead, support, and mentor a dedicated team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and trauma-informed best practices. Actively support staff wellbeing, recognizing the secondary stress inherent in case management, and provide reflective supervision. Coach case managers on documentation quality and timeline compliance within our case management system (Sumac). Community Partnerships & External Impact Convene and lead regional partners around pressing community needs by directing the Coalition of Emergency Service Providers (CEAP). Own the external coordination, administration, and partner relationships for the Good Tenant program and lead the Landlord Roundtable / Landlords Network to secure real housing solutions. Oversee massive community impact projects and seasonal distributions, including our annual Santa's Workshop . Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement Build and own monthly reports that synthesize raw data into clear, decision-ready insights for funders, board members, and stakeholders. Define and monitor meaningful metrics (goal attainment, housing retention, self-sufficiency) to constantly elevate program quality. What You Bring (Qualifications) Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in social services, nonprofit management, or a related field required. Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent advanced experience strongly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in human/social services, with a proven track record of supervising and developing a team. Deep familiarity with the nonprofit ecosystem, volunteer management, community partnership building, and budget administration. Skills A deep commitment to serving neighbors with an empowerment mindset—coaching people toward growth rather than fostering dependency. Grounded in culturally humble, trauma-informed practices when supporting individuals experiencing acute financial hardship and crisis. Ability to connect day-to-day service delivery to long-term systemic outcomes, using both qualitative and quantitative data to drive decisions. Exceptional emotional intelligence with the ability to self-regulate and maintain a calm, steady presence in high-stress situations. Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience utilizing a client or case management database (Sumac or similar) is required.
