Position Summary:
Position Summary The LDCT Coordinator manages and oversees the Lung Cancer Screening Program using Low-Dose CT in accordance with national guidelines such as those established by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and quality standards from the American College of Radiology (Lung-RADS). This role ensures regulatory compliance, coordinates patient care throughout the screening process, and supports multidisciplinary collaboration to improve early detection of lung cancer. Key Responsibilities Program Management Coordinate all operational aspects of the LDCT screening program Ensure compliance with CMS and accreditation standards Maintain participation in the ACR Lung Cancer Screening Registry Monitor quality metrics and performance indicators Develop and update policies and procedures Patient Navigation & Education Identify and verify patient eligibility criteria Coordinates shared decision-making education as required by CMS Coordinate scheduling and pre-screening documentation Communicate results and coordinate follow-up care Track incidental findings and ensure appropriate referrals Data & Compliance Maintain accurate patient records and registry submissions Ensure proper documentation for billing and reimbursement Prepare reports for administration and quality committees Assist with audits and accreditation processes Multidisciplinary Collaboration Work closely with radiologists, pulmonologists, oncology, and primary care providers Participate in tumor boards or lung nodule review conferences as needed Serve as a liaison between patients and clinical teams Qualifications Education & Experience 2-5 years in radiology, oncology, pulmonary care, or care coordination Experience with screening programs preferred Knowledge of CMS requirements and Lung-RADS classification system Skills Strong organizational and case management skills Excellent communication and patient education abilities Proficiency in EMR systems and data tracking Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously Preferred Certifications Care Coordination or Navigation Certification Work Environment Hospital or outpatient imaging setting Primarily daytime hours; may require occasional meetings outside regular hours Office and clinical interaction
