Summer Camp Team Captain - Fort Worth

• Schedule:

• Candidate must be flexible. Must be available Mondays
• Fridays, Some Weekends required (between the hours of 9:00 am
• 5:00 pm). End of May
• Beginning of August. Must be available.. between the hours of 6:00 AM
• 5:00 PM, every Monday (Program Launches). between the hours of 7:00 AM
• 5:00 PM, Tuesday
• Thursday (must be available to substitute teach / co-teach any programs, DAILY). between the hours of 7:00 AM
• 5:00 PM, every Friday (Programs End; Material Pick-up Days).
• Wednesdays
• We should try to do inventory and preliminary teacher kit-making for future camps, if we are not subbing. Will have to attend a Central team meeting every Monday at 6:30 pm as well. (online)

• Pay:

• $15 an hour (Contract; Part time).

20 hours guaranteed (will never exceed 40 hours) if a minimum of 3 sites / programs (ACTIVE) running in a week (2-1 camps running per site; prorated hours subject to need). Programs each week range from 1 to 20 camps per week.

• Qualifications/Requirements:

• Operations experience (REQUIRED)
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a group of students with varying needs and abilities.
• Creative, energetic, and patient.
• Must pass all background checks.
• Must have U.S. work authorization
• Must have all vaccines required to work in U.

S. schools (including

COVID-19

vaccine)

• Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
• Having access to your own vehicle is a MUST; secure location to store teaching materials (Class materials might be delivered to your home). Willing to drive up to 40-60 miles for program launches // Dallas and Fort Worth (for program start and end dates).
• Lift up to 40 lbs to transport materials; this position may require bending, stooping and lots of walking during days of operation / program launch days.

• Key Responsibilities:

• Substitute any program where needed.
• Assist in preparing materials and setting up summer camp activities.
• Observe instructors during camp activities // Takes notes for Cheryl
• VAC Team Coordinator (report anything concerning or problematic).
• Supervise and engage with students during the activities.
• Maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
• Manage classroom behavior and resolve conflicts in a positive and constructive manner.
• Care, safekeeping, and upkeep of all materials.
• Serves as a representative of VAC Enrichment and maintains a positive and professional manner.
• Completes all training and paperwork as required by VAC Enrichment (complete paperwork for schools you have yet to be onboarded at).
• Understands the curriculum and concepts thoroughly to be able to provide value to participants with diverse abilities and interests.
• Communicates with parents and clients in a knowledgeable, respectful and tactful manner to address questions or concerns.
• Adheres to all VAC Enrichment and school safety procedures and procedures for supervision and release of children.
