  • Full-time Program Specialist Position Summary Austin Retina Associates is seeking a responsible, self-motivated individual to assist in providing unparalleled patient satisfaction, performing duties within our accounts receivable and insurance departments.
In this role you will work with patients, insurance carriers and pharma programs. Duties/Responsibilities Accurate data entry Receive inbound and place outbound calls for new patients to obtain insurance information Input assorted information into billing systems Enroll patients for varying cost medical programs Assist in monitoring faxes and upload to patient charts Post payments from patients Provide cost estimates to patients for medications and to arrange payments Assist with recovering payments on unpaid claims Respond to a high volume of internal instant messaging Required Skills/Abilities Proficient with computers and ability to learn new softwares Ability to continually learn revamp and train in new processes High attention to detail Good communicator and ability to relate well with others Enjoy working in a high volume work flow of cases within a high-performance culture Thrives in a team oriented environment working closely with others Enjoy a diverse, family-type atmosphere with solid benefits and room for learning and growth Have a desire to be part of a winning team and to contribute in making it even better Desire to learn in a medical insurance/billing atmosphere Preferred Attributes Proficient with computers and ability to learn new softwares Continually revamp and train in new processes High attention to detail Good communicator and relates well with others Enjoy working with a high volume of cases within a high-performance culture Thrives in a team oriented environment working closely with others Enjoy a diverse, family-type atmosphere with solid benefits and room for learning and growth Has a desire to be part of a winning team while contributing toward improvements Desire to learn in a medical insurance/billing atmosphere Bilingual in spanish a plus Ability to work a consistent Monday to Friday, 8-5 schedule Physical Demands and Requirements Prolonged sitting up to 8 hours a day; stand and walk; talk and hear both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 15 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes viewing multiple computer screens, close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Viewing images and operating computer devices constantly.
