Why This Role Matters As a Health Specialist - Center Based , you play a vital role in ensuring children enrolled in Early Head Start programs receive comprehensive, high‑quality health services. You help monitor and coordinate medical, dental, and developmental care while supporting families with education and access to resources. This role goes beyond compliance — it is about advocacy, early intervention, and ensuring every child has a healthy foundation for learning and growth. What You'll Do Monitor and coordinate health services including screenings, immunizations, and medical and dental follow‑ups. Maintain accurate health records and documentation in ChildPlus in alignment with Head Start Performance Standards. Provide referrals and guidance to families for medical, dental, and inclusion services. Deliver health education and training for staff, families, and community stakeholders. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support holistic child development and program compliance. What You Bring Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Certification or education in a health‑related field (e.g., Medical Assistant, LVN, or Health Services) with relevant experience. CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain). Experience working with young children and families, preferably in early childhood or community settings. Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
