Summer Internship Description The Fervent Children Foundation Youth Summer Program Internship provides anopportunity for interns to gain hands-on experience working with at-risk youth inastructured, community-centered environment focused on education, mentorship, and personal development.
Program Schedule:
Monday•Friday 9:00 AM•4:00 PM
Daily Lunch Break:
12:00 PM•1:00 PM Internship Overview Interns will support and engage with youth ages 5+ School age youth, assisting with daily program operations while helping create a safe, positive, and enriching environment. Interns will work alongside program sta to implement a structured curriculum designed to promote physical wellness, academic growth, and life skills development. Key Responsibilities Supervise and mentor youth participants throughout daily activities Assist with organized physical and recreational activities, including outdoor engagement Support meal service and help facilitate daily lunch periods Participate in Education Hour, assisting students with learning enrichment activities Help lead and monitor extracurricular programming such as: Gardening activities Woodworking projects Team-building and creative development exercises Ensure participant safety and maintain positive behavior support practices Serve as a positive role model while encouraging teamwork, respect, and confidence among youth Skills & Experience Gained Youth mentorship and leadership development Classroom and group management experience Community engagement and nonprofit program operations Conflict resolution and communication skills Program planning and activity facilitation Ideal Candidates Individuals passionate about youth development and community service Dependable, patient, and able to work with diverse youth populations Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments Interest in education, social services, recreation, or nonprofit leadership
