Founded in 1990 by Mr. Eduardo Gutierrez and operating as The Student Alternatives Program, we rebranded in 2019 to Triumph Public High Schools. We specialize in serving high school students who are placed at-risk in completing their high school education. Position Overview Triumph Public High Schools is seeking a dynamic, dedicated and passionate individual with a heart to serve and educate at-risk youth and young adults. As a Truancy Officer at Triumph Public High Schools, you will provide assistance to campus personnel to include the attendance officer in interpreting and enforcing compulsory attendance laws and resolving truancy, excessive absences, and tardiness problems. Serve as campus liaison to parents, law enforcement agencies, and court personnel. Key Responsibilities Investigate cases of unexcused and excessive absences and tardies and enforce provisions of compulsory attendance laws, Board policy, and administrative regulations. Issue warnings; file complaints against students, parents, or individuals with parental control in accordance with compulsory attendance laws, Texas Education Code, and board policy; and refer to appropriate court. Confer regularly with attendance officer, teachers, counselors, student and family services coordinators (SFSC), principals, and other staff to identify problems of tardiness, attendance, and student Truancy. Maintain contact and act as liaison to local law enforcement agencies and courts in the area of student truancy. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, including records of all cases investigated and reports required by the commissioner of education. Implement and comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of student attendance. This position may occasionally require work on Saturdays, during the summer, or travel within the State of Texas. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas Driver's License Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Ability to pass pre-employment fingerprinting and background check Preferred Qualifications Two years work experience in compliance, law enforcement, or with children or adults in a leadership role. English and Spanish Compensation Annual Salary Range:
$26,400 - $29,040 (based on a 220-day work schedule) Salary placement is based on education, experience, and credentials Salary is prorated from the effective date of hire (Equivalent to approximately [$120 - $132] per workday, depending on placement.)
