The Attendance Officer partners with campuses, families, andmunity organizations to investigate attendance concerns, support recovery efforts for students at risk of dropping out, and ensurepliance with Texas attendance laws. This role manages a wide range of responsibilities, from home visits and court proceedings to data re and cross-departmental coordination.Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate excessive absences and attendance referrals; conduct home visits andmunity investigations as needed.
- File appropriate legal documents, initiate truancy court proceedings, and testify as required.
- Re truancy reports and issue state-mandated warning notices to families.
- Support dropout prevention and recovery efforts, including locating students who have stopped attending.
- Collaborate with district staff and outside agencies to manage high-risk cases.
- Assist campuses in resolving parent and student concerns related to attendance.
- Coordinate with other district offices and administrators to align departmental activities.
- Support state-mandated testing administration and assist with corrective action planning based on campus data.
- Engage in professional development to stay current on attendance laws, TEA regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of related work experience, or an equivalentbination of education and experience.
Salary Range:
$48,580.00- 59,250.
