The Coordinator reports to the Director of the Honors Program. Examples Corresponds with students concerning admission requirements, application, academic advising, program requirements, and graduation requirements. They maintain student records; assist in planning and facilitating co-curricular events, field trips, and other student events and must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends. They assist in developing strategies for enhancing student opportunities for internships, undergraduate research, study abroad, and other academic opportunities. They support the promotion of the program through the development of recruiting materials, social media campaigns, and in person recruiting events. The Coordinator also communicates and works with staff from several areas including the Admissions Office, the Registrar's Office, the Career Management Center, the Counseling Center, the Housing Office, and the Print Shop and other necessary campus offices. They attend annual National Collegiate Honors Council conferences, and annual Great Plains Honors Council conferences. They assist with program assessment and evaluation and manage other duties consistent with qualifications and abilities as assigned. Physical Condition Must be able to travel to accompany students at conferences and field trips. Experience Previous involvement as a student or staff member of a University or Community College Honors Program or Honors College preferred; otherwise requires experience as a staff member in a college environment that involves regular communication with students/faculty/staff. Knowledge Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, and a general understanding of university degree requirements are required. Education Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. Additional Requirements Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills; be able to interpret and apply complex academic requirements; and have proven organizational skills. Must be a positive representative of the university and possess the ability to establish working relationships with various constituencies including students, faculty, and staff.
