Agudas Achim Congregation—an egalitarian Conservative synagogue in Alexandria, VA—is seeking a Program Coordinator to play a hands-on role in shaping Jewish communal life. This full-time position is ideal for someone who wants to be part of a vibrant Jewish community , work closely with families and clergy, and bring warmth and structure to synagogue programs and celebrations. Full-time | 40 hours/week | Wednesday-Sunday (Evenings and weekends are part of synagogue life—especially around Shabbat and B'nai Mitzvah weekends.) What You'll Be Doing Bringing synagogue programs and events to life—from Shabbat and holidays to community gatherings Serving as the go-to guide for B'nai Mitzvah families, coordinating all non-ritual details Managing event logistics, kitchen and catering coordination, and weekend operations Leading part-time staff and volunteers during services and celebrations Being the calm, welcoming on-site point person when it matters most Who This Is For Someone warm, capable, and deeply organized A natural planner who enjoys juggling moving pieces Comfortable working with families, clergy, staff, volunteers, and vendors Experience in Jewish communal or nonprofit settings is a plus Familiarity with Shabbat, holidays, and kashrut is required Compensation & Benefits $50,000-$55,000 , commensurate with experience Healthcare, dental/vision options, FSA PTO plus Federal and Jewish holidays when the office is closed If you're excited to build community, love creating structure behind meaningful experiences, and want to grow your career in Jewish life—we'd love to meet you.
