$20.00 per hour

  • CRHA Resident Services seeks to foster healthy communities and promote self-sufficiency by improving community relations, facilitating access to resources, and providing opportunities for personal goal achievement for residents of CRHA's communities.
The PT Assistant Youth Coordinator assists with youth programs and opportunities for CRHA's young residents. Employees may be assigned the responsibility of more than one site.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development:
Assist in the creation of an environment that facilitates the achievement of Priority Outcomes (Healthy Lifestyles, Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship) and promotes program participation. Assist with field trips for educational and experiential learning opportunities Work with youth across all sites for Positive Youth Development (PYD) programming and the formation of a Youth Committee Assist with producing a monthly calendar of events and activities Work with local partners to ensure clear communication and facilitate referrals as needed Participate in special programs and/or events as requested
Facilitation and Mentorship:
Facilitate programs and activities indoors and outdoors for ages 5-24 Set clear boundaries with members by enforcing CRHA rules and policies and ensuring compliance while fostering an inclusive environment. Maintain positive relationships with members and their parents and/or guardians while creating a culture of engagement and belonging Enforce all safety precautions and ensure that equipment is maintained in an appropriate manner Provide appropriate youth supervision by being vigilant of members in program areas, monitoring equipment and supplies Mediate mild behavior issues with confidence while providing guidance and role modeling. Oversee clean up and ensure a clean area at the end of snack and mealtimes Perform other related duties as assigned by management staff
Administration:
  • Accurately assist with completing and submitting monthly service reports, grant reports, activities budgets, program reporting, and any other required paperwork/reporting needed for the department.
  • Assist with creation of monthly calendars of events and activities, producing outreach flyers and quarterly newsletters to keep the community informed if applicable.
  • Attend appropriate internal and external meetings as assigned by supervisor or Department Head. Such meetings may include the following: Resident Services Department Meetings, Staff Training, Programs Supportive Housing Network meetings, Public Hearings, Community Meetings, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working with diverse population, low to moderate income families, people with mental health issues, substance abuse, disabilities, legal issues and young adults
  • Team player, enthusiastic, flexible, patient, problem solver, strong initiative, positive spirited and a desire to make a difference in the lives of residents
  • Possession of a valid Driver License with clean record
Required Skills:
  • Ability to articulate ideas clearly and professionally in both a written and oral manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information a must
  • Ability to follow through and complete job duties when assigned in a timely manner
  • Sensitivity to issues pertaining to families and youth populations
  • Ability to troubleshoot and prioritize work
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and exercise crisis de-escalation and resolution skills where appropriate
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills Proficient with computer use and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
Physical Demands:
  • Must be willing to travel from various sites
  • Ability to handle a significant level of stress
  • Responsible to set up and clean up facilities utilized for events with occasional lifting, bending and pushing
