UVa Housing & Residence Life (HRL) is seeking a Program Coordinator (PC) for a student facing role within Residence Life. The Program Coordinator will review all resident staff training programs and the Resident Advisor selections process to ensure both legal compliance and compliance with university mission. The Program Coordinator will lead, guide, and coach the Vice Chairs for Training and Selections who in turn plan all resident staff training programs and the RA selections process. The PC position is directly supervised by an Assistant Dean.

Specific living and learning programs include language immersion houses, three residential colleges, a comprehensive residential experience. Residential environments comprise a diverse range of architectural styles, including traditional residence halls, suite-style accommodations, and apartment complexes.
Program Coordinator duties and responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Assistant Dean, Coordinators will work towards developing, growing, and supporting the residential experience.
Oversees a review of resident staff training programs partnering with Vice Chair to maintain consistency, quality, and alignment with program priorities over time
Supervises and advises two Vice Chairs to oversee the resident staff training, selections, and other assigned processes
Administers all training programs in Canvas (LMS) and serves as the central point of expertise for Canvas-based training delivery
Reviews and documents all resident staff training attendance and completion
Works with the assistant dean to assess needs, develop outcomes, implement learning opportunities, and evaluate training and selections initiatives
Reviews and oversees RA selection activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and University and HR policies, in collaboration with Vice Chair
Oversees room reservation processes on Grounds for HRL, ensuring proper use, coordination, and compliance with university policies
Partners closely with Dining to manage catering orders, bulk cafeteria requests for training, and administration of the Dome Room dinner event series
Oversees general HRL catering orders, ensuring proper use, coordination, and compliance with university policies
Student support responsibilities include mentoring, training, and/or supervising student staff and student leaders as well as helping students solve problems and respond appropriately to challenges and/or crises
Participates in an on-call rotation.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree required
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and team members
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred:
A Master's degree or equivalent in Counseling, Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, or other related field is preferred
Two years of relevant experience in residence life, counseling, teaching, and living/learning environments is preferred
Experience managing a budget or reconciling financial accounts is preferred
Experience with program assessment and data-driven decision making is preferred
Experience being on-call within a housing & residence life setting is preferred
About the Position
The salary range for this position is $45,000-55,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is an exempt-level position with UVa benefits.
This is an in-person, live-off position, located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Housing & Residence Life business hours are
Mon-Fri:
8am-5pm. To support program needs, evening and weekend work may be required on occasion.
Temporary housing may be available to the successful candidate to help navigate a potential relocation to the area.
