Job Description

Next Step Therapy and Vocational LLC is looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for small and very active community day program. Activities include daily exercise/hikes/walks (1-2 miles), daily volunteering, supporting the adults in various community activities (e.g. bowling, mini-golf, shopping/malls, gardening, jet skiing, going to the movies, water parks, snow tubing, Kings Dominion etc.). The program stays engaged across a 6 hour day. Be a part of a program that wants to support this population with a community day that they deserve; recognizing this can only be accomplished by exceptionally talented and engaging support professionals. Skill Requirements Very active program; must be an active and engaging individual (high battery) Support a small group of adults at a 1:3 ratio, comfortable supporting/leading a group Fun and engaging personality; able to bring out the best in those you support. Highly experienced and talented working/supporting with adults with disabilities Administrative skills; able to document the skill-building activities across a 6 hour day Hours & Compensation 10am-4pm, 6 hour program day Staff are compensated for a 7 hour day, (additional hour for at-home admin work). Paid holidays (18 paid days-off) Paid trainings and development Health benefits to be added Training & Qualifications College Degree Must pass the State of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) fingerprinting and criminal background check. Minimum one (1) year of experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or working in a related field. Active Drivers License Volunteer experience in the field preferred

$40.00 - $48.00 per hour
