Often described as a hidden gem just outside the Tri‑Cities region, RBC offers a distinctive learning environment on more than 750 acres of scenic wetlands, tranquil forest, and the Commonwealth's oldest and largest pecan grove. RBC is seeking a highly organized, creative, and collaborative Assistant Program Coordinator for Virtual Reality (VR) and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Programs to support innovative, grant funded initiatives within the Office of Research & Innovation (ORI). This 100% grant-funded position plays a key role in coordinating the development, implementation, and daily operations of VR and UAS related instructional and programmatic activities. The Assistant Program Coordinator also leads and supports creative and graphic design efforts across programs, including marketing materials, publications, and digital content. The role works closely with faculty, staff, students, and external partners to enhance program delivery, support immersive technology applications, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Program & Technical Coordination Coordinate the implementation of VR and UAS related instructional and programmatic activities Assist with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VR systems, simulation tools, and related equipment Provide operational support for immersive learning environments and graphics-based applications in collaboration with the ORI team Maintain accurate documentation, inventory records, and usage logs for equipment and software Creative, Graphic Design & Communications Develop and deliver high quality graphics and visual content used across campus in support of grant funded programs Design and produce approved social media graphics, promotional materials, and digital assets Lead the creation of logos, branding elements, and campaign materials for ORI and ODI grant programs Coordinate and contribute to official ORI publications, including RBC ORI magazines, newsletters, and grant related materials Coordinate and manage ORI social media platforms to engage faculty, staff, students, and the broader community Grant Coordination & Program Support Coordinate and support the graphic design and communications components of all grant funded projects, including VR, UAS, and related initiatives Assist with tracking grant deliverables, timelines, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with funding agencies Support data collection, reporting, and evaluation activities for grant programs Coordinate meetings, communications, and documentation related to grant activities Assist with procurement processes and budget tracking for grant funded equipment, software, and design materials Operational & Strategic Contributions Contribute to the development and expansion of graphics based and immersive technology program offerings Support outreach, recruitment, and engagement efforts through strategic and visually compelling communications Provide input on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices related to VR, UAS, and digital design Other Responsibilities Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities Support ORI special events, workshops, and demonstrations Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sponsored Programs or department leadership Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in, Graphic Design, or a closely related field Experience in graphic design, including digital media, branding, and content creation Experience designing social media graphics and/or use graphics applications Experience in developing promotional materials, including magazines, newsletters, and informational pamphlets Evidence of strong organizational and time management skills. Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills.
