Job Description
JOB Early Childhood Program Specialist 2 (Toddler)
Maintain student files (digital and paper) ensuring they include assessments, screenings, documentations, or any other pertinent information that should be in the student's file. Independently review files following procedures to ensure established deadlines are met. Document follow up that are related transition plans, ILPs, and individual education plan (IEP)Other duties as assigned Attend required trainings to remain in compliance and remain up to date with current federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures. Participate in meetings with staff, families, external partners and specialists, and center activities to build effective and positive relationships.
This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $38,004 -$50,3287 annually. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A, when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Association (WPEA) Union. Classified positions qualify for the following benefits: Medical/vision, dental, long-term disability, life insurance, and accidental dismemberment, Flexible Spending Arrangement, Dependent Care Assistance Program, Wellness Programs, Department of Retirement Systems Plan 2 or Plan 3, Deferred Compensation Program (DRS) retirement savings plan; TIAA supplemental retirement savings plan, Aflac, 11 paid holidays, leave - vacation/sick/personal holiday/personal leave, auto/home insurance, space available tuition waiver, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), fitness center, reduced rate and priority consideration on-site child care on a space available.

All classified positions will start their salary at Step A.Olympic College has an opening for an Early Childhood Program Specialist 2. The Sophia Bremer Early Learning Academy provides quality, comprehensive early learning services for the Olympic College community. The Early Childhood Program Specialist 2 is the assistant teacher role in the classroom, which requires working with children that range in age from birth to 5. The assistant teacher is responsible for supporting the lead teacher with classroom activities, developing positive relationships with children and families and to provide assistance in creating a quality learning environment. The assistant teacher serves as a part of a diverse and responsive team, requiring strong collaboration skills, professionalism, and integrity in interactions with children, families, colleagues, and community partners. In addition to being responsible for assuring full compliance with all legal, accreditation, and other standards, the assistant teacher also participates in accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement processes. All teachers are expected to meet pre-service requirements upon hire, remain current in training and service requirements, and engage in early childhood education best practices to support practicum students in the daily application of these practices.EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide support to the Program Specialist 2 (Toddler Assistant Teacher)Takes instruction from the lead teacher to setup and implement classroom activities dailyProviding guidance and additional support to when needed to provide individualized instructionUnder the direction of the lead teacher or supervisor, meet with parents quarterly or as needed to communicate children's developmental and progress toward individual learning goals (ILP) to ensure school readiness goals are met. Maintain classroom cleanliness and hygiene to ensure high level of standard hygiene and reduce the risk of illness and infectionPrepare the soap, water, and sanitizing bottles each morning. Clean and sanitize surfaces (tabletops, counters, chairs, etc.) using soap, water, and provided sanitizers and following the established department procedures and policies throughout the day including after meals and activities.Maintain student files (digital and paper) ensuring they include assessments, screenings, documentations, or any other pertinent information that should be in the student's file.
