Job Description

This position is located at Clarkmoor Child Development Center (6wks-5yrs) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. Morale Welfare & Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS)
Employee Childcare Fee :
Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours)
First Child :
100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)
Second and Subsequent Child :

Qualifications:
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. Resumes should not include photos. A qualified candidate must possess the following: (QUAL 1) Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate to the position consistent with: Education must have been directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying). For positions in
Child Development Facilities:
The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. OR (QUAL 2) A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above. In addition to meeting one of the requirements above (QUAL 1 or QUAL 2), all candidate must also possess all of the following: 1. Experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs. 2. Experience managing a classroom setting within child and youth programs. 3. Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum. 4. Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar. Highly qualified candidates will submit resumes reflecting at least 1 year of experience with Child & Youth Services as either a Child and Youth Program Assistant, or Lead Child and Youth Program Assistant.
