• July 30 The program assistants will work jointly with the Summer School Program Director and intervention staff in the implementation of daily events and activities for youth, ages 5-13. Wage per hour $18
• 20 per hr. external, internal reflect the persons current general-ed para wage. One position 7:30-2:00 6 hours a day for 20 program days, 30 minute duty free lunch, plus one 2 hour day of training and prep. Program Assistant The program assistants will work jointly with the summer school program and intervention staff in the implementation of daily events and activities for youth, ages 5-13.
• Implement curriculum.
• Oversee the classroom environment to support youth and classroom goals.
• Encourage and support youth participation in the activities and learning experience.
• Supervise meals
• Participate in program meetings and partner with organization staff.
• Assist in organizing and supervising field trips
• Provide office support and/or assist in supervision on the bus as needed Priority to persons:
• with extensive second language acquisition such as, but not limited to trainings as GLAD, S.

O.P., etc.

• Prior experience with project-based learning
• Experience working with multi-cultural youth who may have been exposed to poverty, gang violence, and substance abuse
• Experience working in a training or education environment preferred

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required; two years of college preferred

• Ability to provide quality student mentoring and coaching, as well as small group and individualized instruction.

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must have valid WA State driver's license
• Blood borne Pathogen training (provided)
• Boundary training (provided)

Essential Physical Abilities:

• Able to safely lift/push/pull up to 10 lbs. for short distances.
• Perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms.
• Able to traverse a wide variety of physical indoor and outdoor environments without assistance including uneven surfaces and stairs.
• Able to communicate with others effectively, verbally and in writing, including those who have limited English skills, large groups and small groups, and individuals.
• Able to use standard office equipment without assistance.
• Able to maintain reliable attendance.

Working Conditions:

• Classroom and outdoor environment.
