Job Description

About the Role The Nekoosa Program Coordinator & Behavior Support Specialist plays a dual role at our Nekoosa Site located at
Alexander Middle School:
managing daily operations tied to our CCLC grant program, and providing hands-on behavior intervention support during the school day in partnership with the Nekoosa School District. This is a position for someone who genuinely loves working with young people, can build trust with students who need extra support, and thrives in a structured yet dynamic school environment. You'll plan and run programs, track outcomes, and be a consistent, caring presence for the kids who need it most. Hours are M-F 9:30 am - 6:00 pm What You'll Do Program Development & Management Plan, develop, and implement arts, education, life skills, sports, fitness, technology, and specialty programs aligned with CCLC grant requirements and BGC's priority outcomes: Health & Well-Being, Character & Leadership, Academic Success, and Life & Workforce Readiness Manage the Cayen data system and compile monthly grant reports reflecting activities, attendance, and participation Monitor and evaluate program achievement against target goals; recommend modifications that respond to member needs Initiate new programs with Site Director approval and promote member participation Behavior Intervention Support Partner with Nekoosa School District to implement behavior support schedules and maintain regular communication Develop personalized strategies to help students manage challenging behaviors, stress, frustration, and anxiety Build students' social skills and create safe, inclusive, emotionally supportive classroom environments Regularly track student behavioral progress and the effectiveness of interventions Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and school staff to ensure consistent support across home and school Supervision & Site Management Independently manage groups of 15-25 members and handle behavior documentation Manage the site, staff, and members in the absence of the Site Director Maintain inventory of program equipment and supplies; control monthly supply budget Conduct monthly tornado and fire drills; ensure a healthy and safe environment at all times Additional Responsibilities Participate in special programs and community events May be required to drive Club van Other duties as assigned What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years of experience planning and implementing youth programs Knowledge of youth development principles Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to motivate youth and effectively manage behavior challenges Proficiency with PC and/or Mac; ability to learn new software as needed Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment Valid Wisconsin Driver's License and 18 years of age or older CPR and First Aid certification preferred
SUMMER OPPORTUNITY
While this is primarily a school-year position, staff have the opportunity to pick up part-time to full-time hours during the summer at our Wisconsin Rapids (WR) Center — making this an excellent fit for candidates looking for year-round, meaningful work with youth.
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
