Job Description

Under general direction, this position performs complex administrative and professional work at the advanced level to manage, plan, organize, and evaluate Child Welfare/Adult Services training for the WV DoHS/Bureau for Social Services, statewide.
Responsibilities include:
providing administrative and program direction for child welfare/adults services training staff; develop, plan, implement, and evaluate training projects statewide; manage training calendars and schedules; supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff; develop and coordinate collaborative efforts among health and human service agencies, advocacy groups, institutions, and grantee service providers for child welfare/adult services training; perform program development disciplinary matters, performance improvement, and other related actions for child welfare/adult services; other duties as assigned. This position will involve statewide travel, which requires a valid driver's license and availability of a vehicle. Preference will be given to candidates who have social services training experience, supervisory experience and a Master's Degree in Social Work.

Applicants hired into this classification must obtain licensure as a Social Worker from the West Virginia Board of Social Work within a timeframe set by the appointing agency. Until licensure is obtained, they may not perform duties that require a licensed social worker under state law or Board regulation.

Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the program area or related field.
