Job Description

Senator John Barrasso Casper, Wyoming U.S. Senator John Barrasso is seeking a Veteran and Military Liaison in his Casper, WY office. This position will work directly with military and veteran constituents and their families on casework to resolve issues with federal agencies. This position will also serve as the Senator's liaison to local and statewide veteran groups, the Wyoming Military Department and various military/veteran stakeholders.
Primary responsibilities include:
Veteran and Military Casework:
Advocate on behalf of Wyoming veterans, military members and their families with federal agencies and programs.
Veteran Outreach:
Establish relationships with organizations, agencies and communities to keep a pulse on veteran issues around Wyoming.
Service Academy Nominations:
Facilitate military service academy nominations, including coordinating student outreach and managing the Senator's Academy Board.
Public Outreach:
Coordinate, plan and attend events with and on behalf of the Senator to maintain visibility and availability to constituents.
Advocacy:
Routinely monitor and report to the Senator on issues directly impacting Wyoming veterans and their families, including identifying opportunities for the Senator to help improve the quality of life of veterans, military members and their families.
Qualified applicants are:
Veterans with strong Wyoming ties. Excellent communicators (written and verbal). Able to work within a face-paced, results-oriented environment. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills. Committed to working within a cohesive team. Proficient with technology including DSLR photography. Familiar with VA/military issues in Wyoming (preferred). This is a full-time, in-person role with federal benefits. Evening and weekend hours are sometimes required. Please submit cover letter and resume for consideration.
