WE Build Project Mnager/ Director Urban Ministry Inc. - 3.9 Birmingham, AL Job Details Full-time 2 hours ago Qualifications Vendor relationship building Teamwork Contractor management Interpersonal skills Volunteer management Driving Full Job Description Job Summary The WE Build Director provides leadership for all aspects of the program, including construction management, apprentice development, budgeting, and team supervision. This position requires someone who can balance technical expertise with a passion for mentoring young adults and investing in community. The ideal candidate is a leader who can manage projects with excellence while helping apprentices develop the skills necessary for long-term success. Key Responsibilities Oversee multiple residential renovation projects from acquisition through completion. Develop project budgets, schedules, and timelines. Coordinate permits, inspections, subcontractors, and volunteers. Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards. Supervise the WE Build Site Supervisor and apprentices. Develop and improve apprentice curriculum and skill assessments. Track apprentice growth and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship. Maintain project budgets and provide regular updates to leadership. Build positive relationships with vendors, volunteers, and community partners. Support the mission and values of Urban Ministry. Communication & Collaboration Reports directly to the Director of Operations. Participates in regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings with the Director of Operations. Provides timely updates regarding project status, budgets, permits, and personnel matters. Works collaboratively with the Executive Director and other Urban Ministry staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Qualifications Experience in residential construction, remodeling, or project management. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. General Contractor or Home Builder's License preferred, or ability to obtain licensure within one year. Valid driver's license. Comfortable operating trucks, trailers, tools, and construction equipment. A heart for mentoring young adults and developing communities.
