Should Harkcon be awarded the contract, you will be hired to oversee a team of 6-7 personnel as they provide on-site administrative and logistics support to the U.S. Coast Guard's Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) Project Residence Office (PRO) in Mobile, AL. Be part of the excitement as the newest cutters to join the USCG fleet are built and tested. In this role, you will be responsible for contract coordination, communication, reporting support, and oversight of personnel working under the contract. This is a remote, part-time position requiring approximately 6 hours per week beginning in August 2026. The role may be structured as either part-time employment or 1099 contractor status. Key Responsibilities The Project Manager will be responsible for all contractor work performed under the contract and will serve as the single point of contact for the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer's Representative.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as Harkcon's primary point of contact for the Contracting Officer and COR. Be available by telephone Monday through Friday, 0900-1700 CST. Respond to Government requests within 24 hours. Oversee contractor personnel supporting the contract. Collect weekly work assessments from assigned personnel. Support monthly invoice validation and required documentation. Ensure weekly timekeeping records are submitted for COR or ACOR signature. Coordinate with Harkcon leadership on contract performance, deliverables, personnel matters, and Government communications. Maintain contract compliance and ensure continuity of coverage during any Project Manager absence. Qualifications BA/BS 5 years of relevant experience (CG experience preferred) 4 years of experience in a Project Management role Familiarity with Coast Guard, maritime, shipbuilding, or ship construction environments. Prior experience supporting Government contracts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point, Outlook) Ability to manage low-hour, part-time oversight responsibilities with reliability and responsiveness.
