Job Title:
Project Manager Job Description The Project Manager leads automation and robotics projects from initial design through installation and commissioning in an industrial and manufacturing environment. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinates cross-functional teams, and ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with budget and quality expectations. The Project Manager combines strong technical understanding, customer-facing skills, and basic financial acumen to drive successful project outcomes and long-term client relationships. Responsibilities Serve as the main point of contact between the company and customers throughout the project lifecycle. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Lead project discussions, status updates, and coordination meetings with internal teams and clients. Manage automation and robotics projects from design through installation and commissioning. Oversee multiple phases of projects, ensuring milestones, timelines, and deliverables are met. Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and field services to align on project goals and execution. Monitor internal resources and ensure proper allocation to meet project requirements and deadlines. Track project progress, schedules, budgets, and overall performance, providing regular updates as needed. Identify project risks early, develop mitigation plans, and proactively address potential issues. Support project cost tracking and financial reporting in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Conduct basic project cost analysis and ensure project activities remain aligned with approved budgets. Travel to client sites as needed to support project implementation and customer engagement. Participate in site walkdowns to review conditions, clarify requirements, and validate designs. Oversee aspects of equipment installation and commissioning in coordination with technical teams. Conduct customer check-ins during and after implementation to confirm performance and address concerns. Communicate technical issues related to design and manufacturing in a clear and accessible manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Manage multiple projects and priorities at once in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies in automation, robotics, and industrial equipment to enhance project outcomes. Essential Skills Proven experience as a Project Manager in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience managing projects involving automated equipment or technical systems. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including customer-facing experience. Ability to understand and clearly communicate technical issues related to design and manufacturing. Basic financial acumen, including project cost tracking, reporting, and cost analysis. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting. Comfort working in a cross-functional environment with engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams. Willingness and ability to travel to client sites as needed for project support and customer meetings. Project management experience, including project coordination and execution. Experience in machinery, automated equipment, or similar technical environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with automation, robotics, or packaging systems. Experience in the automotive or broader industrial equipment industry. Familiarity with industrial equipment installation and commissioning processes. Interest in staying up to date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and field service personnel. Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments. Experience with design-related discussions and coordination for automated systems. Work Environment The role is based in a new, state-of-the-art facility in Montgomery, Alabama, focused on the manufacture of packaging and processing equipment for the agriculture sector. The environment is highly collaborative, bringing together engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams to deliver complex automation and robotics solutions. Typical working hours support work-life balance, with a Monday through Friday schedule from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., encouraging time for personal and family commitments. The position involves periodic travel to client sites for site walkdowns, installation oversight, and customer check-ins. The facility operates as a modern industrial and manufacturing setting with advanced equipment and technology tailored to packaging and processing applications. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Montgomery, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $68000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
