About Commercial Construction Group Commercial Construction Group (CCG) is a commercial general contractor headquartered in North Little Rock, AR, with an active project portfolio spanning multiple states. We specialize in behavioral health facilities, ground-up commercial construction, and complex renovation projects. Our team is built on skilled tradespeople and project leaders who take ownership of their work from mobilization through closeout. Position overview CCG is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our project management team across multiple active commercial construction projects. This role is heavily involved in the preconstruction and bid process — coordinating subcontractor outreach, managing bid bonds, assembling permit packages, and tracking submittals from kickoff through closeout. The right candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving office environment where no two days look the same. Key Responsibilities Bidding & preconstruction Assist in the subcontractor bid process — notify subs of upcoming projects, issue bid invitations, create bid forms, obtain bid bonds, track addenda, and maintain organized records of all submitted bids Support preparation of bid packages, scopes of work, and subcontract documents for review by the Project Manager Assist in the transition of projects from bidding into active construction, including preparation of purchase orders, subcontracts, and mobilization documentation Permits & compliance Pull and manage building permits from local and state governmental agencies; coordinate required inspections with appropriate authorities at each project phase Track permit status, certificate of occupancy requirements, and inspection logs across multiple active projects Verify subcontractor insurance certificates, bonds, and lien waivers are current and on file prior to mobilization Project documentation & administration Prepare, distribute, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and transmittals; maintain organized project logs with timely updates Review subcontractor submittals and shop drawings for conformance with contract documents; escalate discrepancies to the Project Manager Process and track invoices, pay applications, and purchase orders; assist with budget updates and cost coding Assist in developing meeting minutes, three-week look-ahead schedules, and weekly project reports for the PM and ownership team Support project closeout activities including punch lists, closeout documentation, and warranty packages Qualifications Required Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction project management, project coordination, or a closely related role Hands-on experience with the bid process, including subcontractor solicitation, bid bonds, and bid tabulation Demonstrated experience pulling permits and coordinating with local and state building departments Proficiency managing submittals, RFIs, and change orders; familiarity with construction management platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with subcontractors, inspectors, and project owners professionally Preferred Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience accepted
Pay:
