Senior Project Manager Job Description The Senior Project Manager oversees complex commercial and hospitality construction projects from conception through completion. This full-time, on-site role focuses on strategic project planning, effective coordination of cross-functional teams, and rigorous control of quality, schedule, and budget. The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in advising on project approach during the early design phase, ensuring that project objectives are clearly defined, feasible, and aligned with stakeholder expectations. Responsibilities Advise at a strategic level during the project conception stage, recommending approaches that best achieve the client's objectives. Review drawing packages and develop realistic timelines, milestones, and deliverables based on project scope and design status. Interface regularly with engineers, architects, designers, stakeholders, and internal team members throughout all stages of the project lifecycle. Understand, review, and redline construction drawings, schematic design documents, and interior design packages to ensure accuracy and constructability. Apply performance management techniques to monitor project progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed. Manage the change control process, including evaluating change requests, assessing impacts on schedule and budget, and obtaining necessary approvals. Facilitate the flow of project information through regular meetings, written communications, and clear documentation for ownership and project stakeholders. Ensure compliance with quality standards by implementing and overseeing appropriate quality control measures. Establish and maintain effective project governance, processes, and systems that support efficient project execution. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements to internal systems and procedures. Promote awareness of quality, safety, health, and environmental requirements among all appropriate team members. Manage multiple stakeholders and work stream managers, aligning priorities and resolving conflicts to keep the project on track. Oversee project budgets and schedules, ensuring that financial and timeline targets are monitored and maintained. Review and interpret construction documents, drawings, and design packages to support decision-making and field execution. Essential Skills 5-10+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the commercial construction space. Proven construction management experience, particularly within the hospitality industry. Demonstrated experience managing hotel and hospitality construction projects, including interiors, tenant improvements, and high-rise or large-scale facilities. in commercial and hospitality construction, with the ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work stream managers effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a client-facing role with a track record of high effectiveness and professionalism. Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to drive accountability and maintain project focus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners. Solid knowledge of construction regulations and safety protocols, with the ability to support a safe job site. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents. Proven ability to manage project budgets and timelines, including tracking costs and schedule performance. Ability to review, interpret, and provide feedback on construction documents, drawings, and design packages. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with large commercial hospitality projects such as hotels and resort developments. experience in construction management for interiors, tenant improvements, and high-rise or complex structures. Experience working closely with architects, engineers, and designers from early design through construction. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and implement effective solutions. Ability to build strong relationships with ownership, stakeholders, and field teams through clear and consistent communication. Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site position at a major resort construction project in Glendale, Arizona, near a large stadium complex. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday, with every other Saturday required, starting around 5:00-6:00 a.m. and working approximately 10-hour days. The role is field-oriented and involves regular interaction with construction teams, design professionals, and project stakeholders on site. The employer provides a vehicle allowance, as well as a phone, laptop, and tablet to support daily responsibilities.
