Our company offers a broad range of services and expertise to assist clients from the initial stages of conceptual designs and studies, to detailed design and engineering, to the completion of construction documents and construction administration. TOR Engineering's in-house AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting and plotting capabilities allows flexibility for quick turn-around on fast-track projects while continuing to provide value added engineering. TOR Engineering's major clients include the following: Arizona Public Service Company (APS) Salt River Project (SRP) NV Energy Pacificorp Electrical District No. 3 (ED3) Gila River Indian Community Utility Authority (GRICUA) Since 1991, TOR has had continuous open contracts to provide engineering and design services on an as-needed basis for Arizona Public Service Company, Salt River Project, Nevada Power Company, and NV Energy. Job Description:
TOR Engineering is looking for an Associate Project Manager to provide a variety of services in support of our Engineering office. This includes the coordination of Inspection service dates and Inspection report archives through third-party consulting firm. This position is open to individuals with a minimum of 3 years of Engineering or Construction Management office/field experience. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, organized and resourceful, possess strong note-taking (meeting minute) skills, and be eager to see things through to completion. Experience with project management platforms (Procore, Vault, etc) is a plus.
Responsibilities Include:
Assist Project Manager(s) and Project Engineers in holding ongoing meetings with clients and client's consultants to discuss ongoing and future transmission, substation, and distribution projects. Interact with consulting firms in other engineering disciplines to coordinate the TOR designs with the client's overall project. Assist Project Manager(s) and Project Engineers in seeking consultation with other internal/external subject matter experts to provide advice to customer on how to best proceed in developing their facilities. Assist Project Manager(s) and Project Engineers in facilitating timely processing of construction support to the customer's contractors to resolve field issues by directing action items to relevant assigned internal resources. Help direct construction contractor RFI's and material submittals. Consult with internal subject matter experts when necessary. Assist with providing pre-scoping proposal support to assist with conceptual development and effort in support of contract acquisition. Assist with reviewing proposals for accurate scoping, scheduling, budgeting and communicate commentary with colleagues in responsible charge of developing contracts & project budgets. Assist with documenting direction in the development and tracking of project budgets and schedules. Attend meetings and assist with preparing agendas, taking detailed meeting minutes, routing notes/action items, updating project schedules with meeting decisions, setting future follow-up meetings. Assist with reviewing or assigning reviews of equipment purchase specifications and construction technical specifications, under engineering supervision. Perform site visits with Project Manager or Project Engineers to annotate condition and status of projects. Perform other related duties, as assigned.
General Requirements:
  • 3+ year of relevant field or vocational experience, or CAPM/Associates Degree.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to communicate and work well within a small team
  • Proper written language skill for business communications (A short writing test will be administered)
  • Above-average knowledge of
Microsoft Office Suite:
Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams
  • Experience with accounting/project management software (Deltek Ajera and Monday.com software) is preferred, but not required
  • In-office work with office size of 70+ people
  • Maintain a regular working schedule
