Project Manager
- Data Center Electrical Construction Job Summary Industrial Power Solutions, a Sundt Company, is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven background in data center electrical construction.
This role is responsible for managing large-scale electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives are achieved. The Project Manager will work closely with Superintendents, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams to successfully execute fast-paced data center projects across the United States. This position requires strong leadership, electrical construction knowledge, financial management skills, and the ability to travel nationwide to support project needs. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership and Execution Manage all phases of electrical construction projects from award through completion. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and execution plans. Coordinate project resources to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project delivery. Lead project kickoff meetings and establish project objectives, milestones, and expectations. Financial Management Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting. Review and approve project costs, commitments, and subcontractor expenditures. Identify and manage project risks, change orders, and cost impacts. Support monthly financial reviews and ensure project profitability goals are achieved. Client and Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Lead project meetings and provide regular updates regarding schedule, budget, and project status. Resolve project issues and conflicts in a professional and timely manner. Schedule and Construction Coordination Work closely with field leadership to support schedule execution and project milestones. Coordinate procurement, material deliveries, subcontractors, and project resources. Monitor project progress and proactively identify opportunities to improve performance. Support short interval planning and overall project execution strategies. Safety and Quality Promote and support a culture of safety across all project activities. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and project requirements. Support quality control initiatives and ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications and customer expectations. Participate in project audits, safety reviews, and quality assessments. Contract Administration Review and manage contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and project documentation. Manage change orders, requests for information, and project correspondence. Ensure proper project documentation is maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Support project closeout activities including turnover documentation and final reporting. Leadership and Team Development Provide leadership and support to Superintendents, field teams, and project staff. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing project culture. Mentor and develop team members while supporting long-term organizational growth. Promote continuous improvement and best practices across project operations. Minimum Job Requirements Minimum 7 to 12 years of electrical construction experience required. Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience on large-scale electrical construction projects. Demonstrated experience managing data center electrical construction projects. Strong understanding of electrical systems including switchgear, generators, power distribution, grounding, and electrical infrastructure. Experience managing project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and contract administration. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project. Valid driver's license required with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check. Ability and willingness to travel nationwide for extended project assignments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center projects. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar project management software. Electrical field experience or Journeyman Electrician background is a plus. Experience managing projects exceeding $10 million in electrical contract value.
