Position SummaryThe Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of medium-to-large MEP construction projects. This role oversees project execution from planning through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager leads project teams, manages financial performance, and serves as the primary liaison for clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject LeadershipLead planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of assigned MEP projects.
Supervise Project Coordinators and Assistant Project Managers to achieve schedule, budget, and quality goals.
Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards.
Conduct regular project meetings to maintain clear communication and accountability across all parties.
Financial and P&L ManagementMaintain project-level budgets, track costs, and ensure profitability targets are met.
Monitor cash flow and forecast financial performance, implementing corrective actions when needed.
Lead change order management, cost recovery efforts, and margin improvement strategies.
Client and Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for general contractors, architects, engineers, and other project partners.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to support satisfaction, repeat business, and positive references.
Coordinate with design, engineering, and purchasing teams to support project needs.
Team Development and LeadershipMentor Project Coordinators, Assistant Project Managers, and other team members.
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
Support recruiting and onboarding of project staff as required.
Operational ExcellenceEnsure adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Implement project controls, quality assurance processes, and reporting standards.
Identify opportunities to improve project delivery methods and operational efficiency.
Qualifications5+ years of progressive experience managing MEP construction projects.
Demonstrated ability to manage medium-to-large project budgets (5M to 50M+).Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, construction methods, and building codes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with construction management software such as Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, and Spectrum.
Preferred ExperienceProfessional certifications such as PMP, PE, DBIA, or CCM.Experience with design-build, IPD, or alternative delivery methods.
Established client relationships within Southern California markets.
