Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Management Analyst with a strong blend of accounting, cost management, and contract-administration experience. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with numbers, reviewing contracts, managing invoices, and supporting multiple lines of business with clear communication and reliable follow-through. The position is primarily remote, with weekly onsite collaboration in Rocklin or Paradise. Responsibilities Support project accounting activities including forecasting, accruals, budget tracking, and basic financial analysis to ensure accurate reporting and cost transparency. Review, interpret, and validate contract language, including scope descriptions, cost structures, change elements, and billing terms.
Perform detailed invoice reviews:
verify work performance dates, align billed values with contract-approved amounts, identify discrepancies, and communicate required corrections. Prepare invoices as needed with accurate cost details, coding, documentation, and supporting backup. Use Excel to build and maintain spreadsheets, apply formulas, perform reconciliations, and support data analysis for reporting. Enter and manage data across multiple project management, accounting, and reporting systems with a high level of accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and multiple lines of business to resolve questions, validate cost information, and support operational workflows. Participate in weekly onsite meetings in Rocklin or Paradise and support occasional on-site work as required. Communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats and maintain a high level of professionalism, patience, and clarity when working with diverse stakeholders. Requirements Experience in Project Controls, Project Accounting, Accounting, or Finance Strong understanding of forecasting, accruals, cost tracking, and general numerical analysis Ability to review, interpret, and work with contracts (scope, rates, terms, performance dates) Skilled in invoice creation and invoice review, ensuring accurate billing aligned with contract values Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, basic spreadsheets, data organization) Comfort working across several software platforms with heavy data input Strong communication skills and ability to engage with multiple lines of business Ability to work onsite 1x per week in Rocklin or Paradise Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting utility, construction, engineering, or field-operations projects Intermediate or advanced Excel skills Prior vendor-management or contract-administration experience Salary Range $90,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
