Program Support Special Corpsmember

- Part-time As a Program Support Special Corpsmember on the Maintenance Pathway at the CCC Greenwood Center, you will engage in CCC Program Activities in outdoor, office and other associated settings.
- Communicating with CCC staff leads verbally and in writing on project deadlines and milestones.
- Learning communication strategies and practice approaches to help organize and/or assist with providing guidance to individual Corpsmembers and crews.
- Taking direction from your supervisor and understanding direction and desired outcomes.
- Learning about project reporting requirements, the importance of accuracy while reporting on project status, communicating obstacles and outcomes, including preparing project and program documentation.
- Asking clarifying questions.
- Coaching and mentoring Corpsmembers on projects and in other training environments.
- Collaborating with others and building professional relationships with your team.
- Safety communication such as informational signage, designating project areas, advanced warning of loud, obtrusive projects or areas or items being off limits or not in service.
- Informing management of project progress and forecasted needs.
- Ensure supervisor and relevant staff are aware of special project needs such as additional Corpsmember assistance or a project's potential impact to the District. Building Maintenance Support
- Learn and practice inspecting and performing alterations, maintenance and repair of building facilities, fixtures and mechanical systems.
- Learn about and practice repairing plumbing, heating, water and sewer systems, electrical maintenance and repair, interior and exterior painting; refinishing furniture; preparing estimates and requisitions materials and supplies; keeping records and preparing project and financial reports. - Inventorying, maintaining and tracking tools, power equipment and other materials.
- Identifying and recommending supplies and products to meet program needs.
- Tracking, reporting and addressing expiration dates on materials and/or other ways of identifying if materials or equipment should not be used such as damaged chainsaw chaps, in accordance with health & safety laws, rules, regulations and policies.
- Assisting with teaching/demonstrating proper tool and equipment use, maintenance, repair when feasible or reporting when further evaluation and repair or replacement is needed. Time Management
- Setting and sticking to a schedule, tracking time and project accomplishments. Identifying areas for, and implementing strategies, that lead to personal and/or organizational improvement and efficiencies.
- Communicating with your supervisor when priorities are unclear, more time is needed for assignments, unforeseen challenges arise, etc.
- Gain an understanding of how long program tasks are supposed to take, and if time adjustments or other expectations may need to be communicated to Corpsmembers or sponsors to ensure completion and deadlines are met.
- Learn about potential project impacts outside of our control, such as seasonal wildlife protections, heavy emergency response timeframes, etc. to incorporate in project and program timeline planning and execution.
- Assisting other Corpsmembers with understanding importance of time management and staying on task to meet goals and deadlines. Safety
- Evaluating project locations, tools and activities for safety concerns and taking appropriate action including reporting, documenting, flagging and mitigating.
- Ongoing daily monitoring, real-time correction of unsafe practices, engaging other Corpsmembers in safety vigilance, modeling safety best practices.
- Learn about the CCC's safety policies and procedures such as how to report workplace injuries and illness. Corpsmember Engagement
- Gain an understanding of effective engagement with young adults as a foundation for future roles supervising others.
- Develop skills to train, mentor, coach and educate others to accomplish tasks and goals.
- Develop skills and learn strategies to help resolve conflicts constructively.

- Learn to recognize strengths and challenges in others and what adjustments you may need to make when working with them.
