The Position:
The Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) acts as the primary point of contact for the execution of PPM processes and tools for customer-facing programs and internal design projects within the organization. In this capacity, the PPM Business Lead manages a team of staff responsible for maintaining and coordinating customer-facing program schedules and internal design project schedules, by collaborating closely with Program and Project Managers to support the effective execution of programs and projects, ensuring they provide measurable value and are managed with transparency, discipline, and accountability in alignment with established PPM processes and tools. A key responsibility of the role includes identifying insights to inform decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and recommending continuous improvement strategies as it pertains to the hours and expenses budgeted and spent across programs and projects. This approach enables management to monitor resource utilization, maintain budgetary discipline, and proactively address potential overruns. Additionally, this role facilitates cross-functional collaboration among Program & Project Management, Business Units, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Information Technology to establish centralized governance of processes and tooling under PPM. Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Provide direct leadership to scheduling personnel across assigned areas, including direct schedule management and integration of schedules. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Oversee the implementation and day-to-day execution of schedule management processes and tools for external programs and internal projects. Program and Project Quoting Management Establish and operationalize quoting process for Program Management for customer facing programs to include development hours, travel, and expenses related to the scope of work of the program. Establish and operationalize quoting process for Project Management for internal projects to include development hours, travel, and expenses related to the scope of work of the project. Establish and operationalize the process for changes in the scope of work which can impact the quoting processes. Establish and operationalize process and communications for resource capacity planning and forecasting. Data Quality, Compliance, & Insight Ownership Serve as the data steward for execution phase labor data within PPM. Establish and uphold time-tracking guidelines for execution, ensuring proper project allocation, accurate cost center application, and timely, precise recording of hours. Identify and utilize technologies that enhance and streamline time-tracking processes. Lead the development of Business Intelligence solutions to deliver actionable insights related to PPM. Determine areas where company expenditures align with intentional planning, and promptly detect deviations from projected plans. Execution Phase Governance & Oversight Take responsibility for the operating model, ensuring seamless transitions of projects from the Strategy Phase with approved: Scope of Work, Quoted Hours, Cost Center Allocations, and Spend Authorizations. Enforce adherence to established execution baselines, guaranteeing that only authorized projects incur labor costs and time is accurately recorded against the appropriate project codes and cost centers. Develop and maintain robust execution phase controls to ensure consistent monitoring across all project types once expenditures commence. Work closely with leaders in the Strategy phase across various project types to implement necessary process and tooling enhancements. Strategy-to-Execution Alignment - Quoted vs Actuals System and Process Owner for comparing quoted hours to consumed hours and department expenses as related to projects. Ensure changes to scope of work which change the budgeted hours, and department expenses are accounted for within the Execution phase of the related project. Lead communications with Leadership on insights related to the budget vs spend for projects Work closely with executing departments and strategy owners for alignment and improvements in quoting processes. The salary range of $119,000 - $199,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. Qualifications:
What we're looking for: Bachelor's degree required in business, engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field. Minimum 10 years in business intelligence, product operations, program management, portfolio governance, operations, and/or platform and tooling support in a complex enterprise environment. Minimum 5 years of hands-on work with Broadcom Clarity PPM, including business-side use, reporting, process support, administration, and/or implementation support. Background supporting cross-functional process change, governance implementation, and operating model design. Track record of improving, modernizing, or replacing legacy tools and workflows, including phased rollouts, migration support, and adoption support. Experience partnering with technology teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors or implementation partners preferred. Exposure to planning, portfolio governance, or enterprise decision-support processes in a multi-stakeholder environment preferred. Hands-on knowledge of Broadcom Clarity PPM capabilities and business use cases, including portfolio planning, governance, reporting, workflow support, and business-side administration. Understanding standard project and portfolio management processes, including initiation/strategy, planning, execution, monitoring & control, and closure. Ability to translate business needs into process requirements and platform capabilities, then drive execution with cross-functional teams. Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting recommendations, risks, and trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders and leaders. Skilled in facilitation and stakeholder influence, including aligning priorities, decision criteria, trade-offs, risks, and outcomes without direct authority. Analytical and problem-solving capability, including defining metrics, interpreting data, and using insights to improve operations. Proficiency with standard productivity tools (for example, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio) and familiarity with enterprise workflow and business intelligence tools. Capacity to analyze business processes across multiple departments, identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement as these processes align with those of other areas within the organization. Exempt Salaried employees receive flexible paid time off. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked. Health Insurance:
