Job Description

Overview We are seeking a senior Environmental Project Manager with extensive experience in environmental remediation and construction oversight to lead complex cleanup projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is best suited for a practitioner who has managed remedial action programs in the field and understands how to execute projects safely, efficiently, and in compliance with California regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will manage remediation projects from planning through construction and close‑out, serving as the primary interface with clients, regulators, contractors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Manage and deliver environmental remediation and construction projects , including soil and groundwater cleanup, excavation, treatment system installation, and remedial action implementation Serve as Project Manager responsible for scope, schedule, budget, subcontractor oversight, and overall project profitability Lead development and execution of remedial action work plans , construction bid packages, and contractor scopes of work Provide on‑site oversight during construction and remediation activities, including contractor coordination, health and safety compliance, and quality control Oversee remediation activities such as excavation, disposal, soil treatment, groundwater extraction systems, and post‑remediation monitoring Interface directly with regulatory agencies (e.g., DTSC, RWQCB, local agencies) to support approvals, reporting, and project closeout Prepare and review construction completion reports, remedial action reports, and regulatory deliverables Manage environmental subcontractors, drilling contractors, remediation contractors, and laboratories Develop project budgets, schedules, change orders, and cost tracking tools Support proposal development, cost estimating, and client pursuits for remediation and construction work Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior project managers and field staff Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, site‑specific health and safety plans, and company policies Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field Minimum of 10 years of environmental consulting experience, with a strong emphasis on remediation and construction‑phase projects Demonstrated experience managing field‑intensive remedial action programs in California Strong working knowledge of soil and groundwater remediation technologies and implementation practices Experience coordinating with DTSC, RWQCB, and local regulatory agencies Proven ability to manage multidiscipline teams, contractors, and complex project logistics Strong cost control, scheduling, and risk management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional licensure (PE or PG) strongly preferred Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Staff GIS Specialist
