Responsibilities include inventory management, scheduling repairs, ensuring FCC compliance, and acquiring radio frequencies for Stanislaus County. The role also includes developing proposals for infrastructure buildout, researching funding sources, writing grants, and collaborating with other departments for project management. Additionally, the position entails developing training, managing frequency sharing agreements, assisting in the integration of secure radio systems, and overseeing communication equipment vendors. Other duties include maintaining updated radio profiles, supporting emergency deployments, and ensuring the proper functioning of radios across various departments and contract cities.

This position is subject to overtime, standby, shift, and callback assignments and will perform related duties as assigned. This position is non-benefited except for participation in a 401a program with Nationwide.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist SR911 technical staff;Develop proposals for infrastructure buildout;Project management over sight of radio tower construction projects;Inventory of all existing radio communication equipment;Maintain and program portable and vehicle radios across the Sheriff's Office including but not limited to the Sheriff's Operations Center (SOC), Training Center, Coroner's Office, Special Investigations Unit (SIU), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Air Support Unit (ASU),Courts, Civil, Adult Detention and the contract cities of Waterford, Hughson, Riverbank, and Patterson;Schedule preventative maintenance and needed repairs for all radio equipment;Acquisition and maintenance of radio frequencies assigned to Stanislaus County and utilized by the Sheriff's Office;Ensure FCC emergency radio communication compliance;Provide recommendations for equipment purchases consistent with county wide communication interoperability;Research potential funding sources for additional radio communication equipment;Write grants in cooperation with other County departments to enhance public safety interoperability;Collaborate with County departments in project management for efficient use of available funding sources;Develop and maintain frequency sharing agreements with local, state, and federal public safety agencies;Assist in the integration of 800MHZ secure radio equipment with allied agencies;Provide oversight of local communication equipment vendors;Develop and provide training on radio system use;Participate in emergency personnel deployments for safety communications;Maintain the appropriate and updated radio profiles;Provide updated radio assignment information to SR911, Turlock Police, the Merced County Sheriff's Office and any other entity needing it for entry into their main consoles;Provide frequency information to allied agencies;Plan for radio site development;Perform such other and similar services in connection with any of the above-listed services.SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION APPLICATION PROCEDURES/FINAL FILING
