We're looking for a hands-on Fabrication PM who can lead projects from sales handoff through fabrication and install readiness, keeping teams aligned, schedules tight, and quality high. Compensation & Benefits $71,000-$90,000/year (exempt) + bonus opportunities Per diem + mileage reimbursement for travel Role Summary You'll own day-to-day project execution in the shop: translating project requirements into clear plans, coordinating cross-functional work, removing blockers, and ensuring builds are install-ready on time. You'll partner closely with Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing to keep projects buildable, cost-aware, and on schedule. Employment Status & Flexibility of Duties This is an at-will , exempt position. This job description describes the role's primary duties and expectations; duties, responsibilities, reporting lines, and processes may change based on business needs. Reports To Sales leadership and Builds Director Key Responsibilities Own project execution after sales handoff : scope review, schedule, labor planning, and daily coordination through completion. Lead the shop team to hit deadlines by setting priorities, running standups, and driving accountability. Improve efficiency by recommending time- and material-saving fabrication methods while maintaining quality. Install readiness & onsite execution : create install plans, coordinate logistics, and support/lead installs as needed. Cross-team coordination : Partner with Engineering (who owns materials specification) to flag buildability risks and recommend material/assembly approaches. Partner with Purchasing (who owns procurement) to ensure timely ordering, substitutions, and delivery coordination. Quality control : ensure finishes, fit, and function meet spec; reduce rework through clear expectations and check points.
Manage subs/freelancers when needed:
scope, schedule, quality expectations, and onsite coordination. Client/site coordination as needed for installs (access, load-in/load-out, constraints, safety, and schedule). Documentation & process improvement : leverage AI tools to help generate, standardize, and document shop and install processes (SOPs, checklists, templates) so work is repeatable and scalable. Work Environment / Schedule / Travel Standard full-time schedule most weeks. During tight timelines, expect some late days several times per month . Travel and onsite installs are required for some projects (not every project). Occasional weekend/overnight installs may happen. Must maintain a valid driver's license and be able to travel with reasonable notice. Valid passport required (for occasional out-of-country travel). Key Deliverables (What "Good" Looks Like) Production plan : maintain a clear weekly production plan and daily priorities for active builds. Install readiness : ensure builds are packed, labeled, and staged with the correct hardware, tools, and documentation. Install plans : provide a written install plan (crew plan, sequence, load plan, site constraints, and risk notes) for installs you lead. Status updates : keep project status current in Monday.com and communicate schedule risks early. Quality checkpoints : implement and follow check points to reduce rework (fit, finish, function, and hardware verification). Decision Rights & Escalation Expectations You can set shop priorities, sequence work, assign labor, and coordinate subs/freelancers to meet deadlines. You are expected to escalate risks early (scope gaps, schedule slips, material lead times, labor constraints, site constraints). No client commitments (scope, pricing, schedule changes, or change orders) without alignment/approval from Sales leadership and/or Builds Director. Performance Expectations (30/60/90 Days) First 30 days : learn workflows, tools, and standards; run shop coordination rhythm; take ownership of at least 1 project through a defined milestone. By 60 days : independently manage multiple builds in parallel; implement repeatable checklists/quality gates. By 90 days : consistently drive on-time delivery, reduce rework, and maintain strong cross-team communication. KPIs (How Success Is Measured) On-time delivery : builds are completed and install-ready by agreed internal ship/load dates. Labor efficiency : improved predictability and reduced avoidable overages through planning and sequencing. Rework reduction : fewer returns to completed work due to missed details, fit issues, or finish problems. Install readiness : fewer onsite surprises due to missing hardware, unclear sequence, or incomplete prep. Cross-team alignment : timely risk flagging and clean handoffs with Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of hands-on experience in event fabrication / experiential production (trade show booths, brand activations, scenic/event builds, custom installs). 3+ years in a shop leadership / management role managing cross-functional teams (e.g., carpentry, paint/finish, fabrication, install crews, subs/freelancers).Strong project execution skills:
