Summary Description This position will provide critical coordination and administrative support to the Engineering Department, helping to improve project organization, communication, scheduling, and permitting workflows. The role is expected to increase efficiency, reduce delays, and ensure projects move through the engineering and permitting process more smoothly and accurately. Desired Qualifications and Background The Engineering Design Coordinator position is intended to be a project coordination and administrative role and does not require engineering, design, or fire alarm system design experience. Key Responsibilities Submit project applications to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) through online permitting portals. Coordinate with permit runners for over-the-counter permit submissions. Manage and file project documents returned by AHJs. Review AHJ comments and distribute them to the appropriate designers. Track, schedule, and coordinate project revisions for timely resubmittal. Collaborate with Project Administrators regarding newly awarded projects. Coordinate with the Engineering Manager to manage designer workloads and project assignments. Initiate project turnover meetings. Facilitate turnover meetings between Sales, Operations, and Design teams. Maintain and update engineering work-in-progress (WIP) reports, project schedules, and status tracking. Lead weekly engineering department meetings and provide project status updates. Perform drawing QA/QC reviews for non-code-related requirements prior to submittal. Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to grammar, spelling, and professional correspondence. Proven experience coordinating communication among multiple teams, departments, and stakeholders. Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience facilitating team collaboration, meetings, and follow-up activities to ensure project milestones are achieved. Proficiency in document management, scheduling, and tracking project status. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Physical and Environmental Demands Sitting
