We are seeking a highly organized, aggressive, execution-focused Assistant Project Manager to help run commercial construction and precast concrete projects throughout California. This position is for someone who thrives under pressure, moves quickly, solves problems, and refuses to let projects stall. You will work directly with ownership and operations leadership to coordinate projects from contract award through completion. This is not an administrative role. This is a role for someone who wants to become a Project Manager, Operations Manager, or Construction Executive. You will:
Project Execution Coordinate active projects from kickoff through completion Track schedules, submittals, permits, materials, production, deliveries, and field operations Ensure every project has a next action and responsible party Push projects through bottlenecks Customer & Vendor Management Communicate with GCs, developers, engineers, inspectors, and vendors Resolve scheduling conflicts Coordinate deliveries and installations Maintain strong customer communication Internal Coordination Work directly with Sales, Estimating, Manufacturing, Dispatch, and Field Operations Ensure crews have what they need before jobs start Eliminate avoidable delays Accountability Escalate issues before they become emergencies Identify risks early Hold stakeholders accountable to commitments Drive projects to completion What Makes Someone Successful Here The right person: ✔ Doesn't wait to be told twice ✔ Follows up relentlessly ✔ Has a sense of urgency ✔ Takes ownership ✔ Thinks ahead ✔ Solves problems independently ✔ Is comfortable making difficult phone calls ✔ Communicates clearly ✔ Can handle pressure ✔ Gets things done Required Qualifications Must Have 3+ years in commercial construction Project coordination or assistant project management experience Experience working for a contractor, subcontractor, manufacturer, or construction company Strong scheduling and logistics experience Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong computer and software skills Strongly Preferred Commercial construction experience Concrete, precast, civil, sitework, utilities, fencing, or manufacturing experience BuilderTrend Procore Hubspot Bluebeam Microsoft Project Spanish speaking Compensation Base Salary $80,000 - $110,000 Performance Bonus Additional compensation tied to: Project completion Schedule adherence Customer satisfaction Operational efficiency Career Path This role can advance into:
