Job Summary:
The role of the VPC Project Manager Supervisor is to deliver the VPC portfolio of projects and programs safely, efficiently, and with high-quality through leadership of a team of Project Managers (PMs), to deliver sustainable growth through engagement with current and prospective customers and collaboration with the Charge EPC support teams.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Support the VPC Project Management Team Ensure that project decisions are made within the broader context of safety adherence and financial stewardship, and the need to meet customer and quality requirements. Ensure that programs are properly planned, executed and closed. Ensure that PMs have adequate resources (funding, people, time), education and technical support to fulfill the program's objectives. Allocate PMs to projects and manage the PM resource. Performance manages the PM team and provides coaching. Maintain a high level of communication between the PM team(s) and the field resource teams, and also the internal functional groups (i.e., estimating, safety, quality). Attend monthly cost forecasting activities for the program Client management, communication and support. Develop and maintain subcontractor relationships and performance management. Escalate project issues to the Charge leadership team as needed. Recommend improvements to Charge processes and tools Participate in Charge's annual and longer-term planning activities Ensure that all construction activities will be performed in accordance with the Charge Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and the Charge Project Life Cycle Manual. Project Management Biweekly one-on-one conversations with each direct report Meetings as required to ensure good internal schedule communication Meetings as required to ensure financial control and reporting is maintained Discussions with the client to ensure goals of program are understood and to keep stakeholders apprised of project status and potential changes Proactive identification of program issues and development of options for corrective action. Operations Execution Biweekly one on one conversations with each direct report Management and communication of construction changes with the project management team Submission of all required daily and task-specific reports Immediate notification of any safety/quality issues Compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management Familiarity with business and financial principles Excellent communication skills Leadership ability Outstanding organizational skills
Education and Experience:
Proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role Degree in Business, Operations Management or related field Experience budgeting and forecasting Physical requirements:
Physical Demands:
Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 75 pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment
Unavoidable Hazards:
The position is exposed to some unusual environmental hazards. Sensory (ADA)
