What We're Looking For We are seeking an experienced Project Executive to lead a portfolio of commercial HVAC and plumbing projects across the San Diego market. This role is responsible for executive-level oversight of project execution, financial performance, and client relationships, while developing high-performing project teams and ensuring consistent operational standards. This position is ideal for a senior mechanical leader who understands how to balance field execution, financial accountability, and client strategy within an established commercial operation. Role Overview The Project Executive will oversee multiple active commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role partners closely with operations leadership, preconstruction, and project teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, and in alignment with contractual and operational expectations. Key Responsibilities Provide executive oversight for multiple commercial HVAC and plumbing projects Own financial performance across assigned projects, including gross margin, forecasting, and risk exposure Lead and support Project Managers and Superintendents, ensuring accountability and consistency Partner with preconstruction and estimating on pricing strategy, pursuits, and project handoffs Monitor schedules, budgets, and staffing plans across the project portfolio Maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, and trade partners Identify and mitigate project risk before it impacts schedule, cost, or client satisfaction Champion safety, quality, and operational best practices across all work Support client strategy and repeat work opportunities in collaboration with leadership Mentor and develop project teams, supporting long-term succession and growth Qualifications 10+ years of experience in commercial mechanical construction , with a focus on HVAC and/or plumbing Experience in a senior leadership role such as Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, or Operations Manager Proven success overseeing multiple complex commercial projects simultaneously Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems, contracts, and financial controls Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and influence outcomes Strong communication skills with owners, internal leadership, and field teams Experience with project management and financial reporting systems PMP or similar credentials a plus, but not required Compensation & Benefits Target compensation in the ~$180K range , depending on experience and scope Performance-based bonus structure Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, etc.) 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Long-term stability with growth opportunity in a well-established operation Why This Role This opportunity offers real executive responsibility, influence over outcomes, and the ability to lead complex commercial work in a stable, high-performing mechanical organization.
