Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Wet Utility Construction Project Manager to join their growing team in San Diego, California. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing underground utility construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage all phases of wet utility construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and executionOversee construction of underground storm drain, water, and sewer systemsCoordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal project teamsReview plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with project requirementsDevelop and manage project schedules, cost controls, change orders, and progress billingEnsure adherence to safety standards, quality control, and local, state, and federal regulationsLead jobsite meetings and provide regular project updates to stakeholdersQualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Manager on underground utility construction projectsProven experience working with storm drain, water, and sewer line installationsStrong understanding of wet utility construction methods, materials, and sequencingAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsExcellent communication, organizational, and leadership skillsProficiency with construction management software and Microsoft OfficeValid driver's license and ability to work on active construction sitesPreferred QualificationsExperience working on public works projects within Southern CaliforniaBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related fieldKnowledge of local agency standards and permitting processes
