This is an on-site, hourly position based out of our Temecula headquarters, with travel throughout Southern California required. The Permit Specialist will report to the Director of Telecom and will manage permit coordination, jurisdictional follow-up, project inspections, and permit closeout activities while supporting Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires someone who can work independently, stay organized across multiple projects, and communicate effectively with jurisdictions, internal teams, and project stakeholders. Duties Prepare, submit, track, and manage telecommunications permit applications with local Southern California jurisdictions. Coordinate with city, county, utility, and other permitting agencies to monitor application status, corrections, approvals, inspections, and closeout requirements. Support Project Managers with permit-related documentation, updates, and issue resolution. Assist Project Managers with bid walks as needed. Coordinate, schedule, and support project inspections related to permitted work. Manage permit closeout activities with jurisdictions, including required documentation, final inspection status, and approval records. Maintain accurate permit trackers, project files, agency correspondence, and status updates. Research jurisdiction-specific requirements, forms, fees, submittal processes, and timelines. Communicate permitting risks, missing information, delays, and upcoming deadlines to the appropriate team members. Work independently to manage multiple priorities, follow up with agencies, and keep projects moving. What we're looking for Minimum 5 years of previous experience in permitting, project coordination, construction administration, telecom operations, utilities, or a related field. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Valid driver's license and personal auto insurance. Ability to travel throughout Southern California as required; company vehicle provided. Experience managing multiple permit applications, deadlines, inspections, and closeout requirements at the same time. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and follow through with jurisdictions, internal teams, and project stakeholders. Comfort communicating with Project Managers, inspectors, city and county staff, vendors, and field personnel. Ability to maintain accurate records, trackers, and project documentation. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with telecommunications permitting in Southern California. Familiarity with local city, county, utility, public works, traffic control, encroachment, right-of-way, or construction permit processes. Experience using online permit portals and jurisdictional tracking systems. Experience coordinating inspections and closing out permits with public agencies. Ability to read or review basic project plans, site documents, construction drawings, or permit packages. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and nights Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more. Provide a valid driver license and maintain an unrestricted driving record Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical exam
