Job Description

Overview:
Our client, a well-established engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a Transmission Project Manager to lead the execution of transmission and utility infrastructure projects in Northern California. This role is responsible for full-lifecycle project ownership and ensuring alignment between engineering teams and client expectations. This full-time position is open to candidates located in Walnut Creek and Sacramento, CA.
Pay range:
$120,000 - $140,000

Responsibilities:
Manage transmission projects from proposal through execution and closeout Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans Track project performance against scope, cost, and schedule Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients Lead project meetings, status updates, and reporting Coordinate communication between engineering, leadership, and client stakeholders Maintain strong client relationships through reliable execution
Financial & Operational Responsibilities:
Monitor project financials including budgets and forecasts Manage scope changes and contract modifications Ensure projects are executed efficiently and within cost targets
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Work closely with engineering teams to support execution Coordinate across disciplines to ensure efficient delivery Improve workflows and project delivery processes
Requirements:
7-15+ years of project management experience in utilities or transmission Experience managing full project lifecycles, including proposals, scheduling, budgeting, and execution Understanding of transmission project workflows PMP certification preferred Utility experience (electric transmission preferred) Experience working with large utility clients Experience supporting project delivery in a consulting or EPC environment Strong stakeholder communication skills Work sponsorship is not available at this time.
