In 2021, PopSockets was honored as one of Fast Company's World's Most Innovative Companies. A Project Manager at PopSockets is responsible for planning, executing and managing projects. This individual must have a solid understanding of product development, be able to handle multiple projects like a professional juggler and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The Project Manager manages communications within and between departments as well as with external overseas suppliers. Tenacity and ability to extract timely and clear project scopes so the team can execute to the master schedule is critical to successfully bringing our products to market. The Project Manager should be a strong leader, a good decision maker, self-driven, detail oriented and highly organized.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Execution Partner with Product, Engineering and Packaging teams to develop project plans, including milestones and timelines, budgets, resources. Define project scopes, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria. Escalate swiftly when project diverges and re-alignment is necessary. Highlight critical paths, proactively identify risks, and develop mitigation plans when necessary. 100% ownership of high-level milestones, and total understanding of how to lead the team to the finish line. Team leadership & coordination Lead and mentor project teams Assign tasks, track progress, and resolve conflicts. Foster collaboration across departments (Product, Operations, Marketing, IT, Sales) Stakeholder Management Communicate between stakeholders across departments, executives, vendors to ensure that projects are achieving company-wide initiatives. Partner with Product, Engineering and Packaging teams to ensure projects are properly resourced. Provide regular updates (status reports, dashboards, presentations), hold cross function teams accountable for. Able to determine priority across projects, able to discern and guide the team to accomplish higher value requests over lower impact ones Manage risks and develop mitigation strategies and escalate issues when necessary. Conduct post-project reviews for continuous improvement. Recommend process improvements and best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering 10+ years of project management experience (consumer goods, electronics, or accessories preferred) Highly confident and effective communicator (verbal and written) Superior time management skills, ability to set and juggle priorities, react to changes with a positive and can-do attitude Proven past track record of shipping consumer products Comfortable working in a fast paced, start-up environment Experience in communicating directly with factories and/or internal manufacturing teams Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and disciplines Must be able to travel domestically and internationally 20% annual bonus potential PopSockets is dedicated to the practice of equal opportunity employment.
