Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM), or Project Manager Assistant, will work alongside the Project Manager to plan and execute projects for the company. Their duties include identifying clients' or stakeholders' project needs and goals, creating a detailed plan to successfully complete a project, while organizing and storing project reports and documents. APM will report to the PM and execute an in-office schedule of no less than 7am - 5pm Monday through Friday with after office hours and Saturday work as needed depending on workload and assigned tasks.General Duties/Responsibilities:
Represent Araco in a professional manner. Assist the Project Manager (PM) in planning and implementation of projects. Ensure all projects are completed safely, on time, on or under budget, and to specifications according to the Contract Documents, with the highest quality possible. Communicating with project stakeholders concerning project details and deliverables. Manage small or less complex projects as needed or requested to support PM. Communicate with clients to understand their needs and ensure that project objectives are clearly defined and understood both internally and externally. Assist PM to resolve issues and delays that arise with their projects. Help coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables, including submittals, billing, invoice management and processing, RFI development, submission and tracking, Change order development, submission and tracking, permits, drawings, etc. Analyzing, tracking and entering data as required by supervisors Conducting administrative duties, such as setting up meetings, drafting Change orders, Updating Microsoft projects, tracking labor and material costs, etc. Tracking and reporting project progress Conduct and report Inventory of materials to include rebar, for each assigned job to accounting Attend jobsite visits as needed or requested to record project progress. Assist the PM in implementing quality control on every project Provide regular project status updates to management to include work progress reports, why and how jobs are going to standard, if jobs are profitable and if not why. Communicate with complete reports and investigations where there are issues, and concerns with any projects. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively, and notify PM. Associate's degree in business administration, Project Management, or related field preferred. At least 3 years of experience as a project engineer, with demonstrated successful completion of timelines Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Proficient in project management software and tools including but not limited to Outlook, EXCEL, Microsoft Project, Blue Beam and Proest. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to project management Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously Thorough knowledge of earthwork, utilities, concrete and asphalt industry Thorough knowledge of concrete and asphalt industry Process and Procedures Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Conflict Management Ability to read and interpret documents such as shop drawings, safety rules, and MSDS sheets. Teamwork and ability to perform conflict resolution with soft communication skills This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors. Overtime will be required to meet project deadlines. Bilingual - Spanish (Preferred) Preferred softwareKnowledge:
